Êtes-vous amoureux ? - NOX#1

Setting up as of the 2020-2021 season, the Opéra national de Lorraine implements the NOX (Nancy Opera Xperience), a laboratory for lyric creation.
Its aim is to rethink the way an opera is produced by inviting artists to work during a long period, in an informal dialogue, elaborating a production in close association with the region.
For its first edition, the Opéra national de Lorraine brings together international artists invited to express their vision of Nancy.
“Are you in love?” is the indiscreet question we asked the people of Nancy from the summer of 2019 to the winter of 2020. Their anonymous stories have been recorded, set to music and reinterpreted by four soloists. The lyrics have not been rewritten or altered: they are rendered in their raw state, true to their original documented recordings.
12 shorts films have been shot on 12 locations around Nancy to reproduce these 12 love stories.
We invite you to discover these scenes on this interactive map or by walking around Nancy and flashing QR codes displayed at the shooting locations.
While the health crisis has dispossessed us of public space, we wish to offer you these scenes of love life, the opera of a city, composed of these anonymous stories.

Every story is a melody, every melody is a story.
