Seek

Find

An illustrated concert for young and old alike

25 – 26 Mar 2022

Disaster! The concert takes place in a week but all the musicians have left to go on holiday: the violinist is in Tokyo, the harpist is in Porto, the trumpeter is in Rio, and the flutist is in Abidjan… The conductor now must go in search of them and his only clues are the post cards they have sent him. But in the world’s teeming cities it isn’t easy to lay your hands on a musician!

In 2016, when the illustrator Chloé Perarnau published The Orchestra, a brilliant seek-and-find story along the lines of Where’s Wally?, she had no idea of the success that awaited her. Her book became a worldwide best seller that has been translated into over ten languages.

Now, the pictures from the book are coming off the page to go on stage in large format and with musical accompaniment. With the help of composer Rachel Leach, the Orchestra’s musicians set these madcap adventures to music, supplemented by the original drawings sketched out in real time during the concert. This mad treasure hunt around the world will delight young and old alike.
