Opera for the youngest

Music has no age! Trust your young audiences: They will be able to take in all the lyrical and symphonic riches that Lorraine National Opera is ready to offer them! This season we will be accompanying you throughout this endeavour.

Shows for young and old

The Opéra Berceau | Throughout the season, nine introductory musical encounters are organised for young children aged between 18 months and 6 years. These performances will offer the children a soft introduction to the sound of music and the singing voice via an original concept conceived specifically for them.

The Haunted Concert I Fri. Oct. 29 at 7 pm I Sun. Oct. 31 at 3 pm and 7 pm. A fabulous, festive, family concert to mark Halloween and bring together young and old alike. Allow yourself to be swept away by the Orchestra on a fantastic voyage to Helsinki in search of the oldest witch in the world. Come in disguise!

Seek and Find | Fri. March 25 at 6 pm and Sat. March 26 at 11 am – Salle Poirel. A performance for children aged 5 and above that will stimulate all the senses! By illustrating the music with drawings in real time, the youngsters will find themselves embarking on a rich symphonic adventure.

Where I go at Night ­| Wed. April 27 at 7 pm, Thu. April 28 and Fri. April 29 at 8 pm – Théâtre de la Manufacture – The theatre Company Maurice et les Autres takes up the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice to evoke the resolutely theatrical character of opera.

Concerts for the little ones I From May 6 to May 8 – To mark the special, free-of-charge weekend event Everyone at the Opera! infants aged between 6 months and 3 years will be able to come and experience the joys of music and song in the company of our Orchestra and Chorus artists.

Everyone at the Opera! I Literally, everyone at the Opera! Take part in the numerous activities that have been specifically organised for you.

Utterly crazy! | Thu. May 19 at 7:30 pm and Fri. May 20 at 8:30 pm – Percussions always fascinate the youngest audiences. Come and discover them with them!

Sunday Workshops

The Opera is happy to take care of your children (aged 4 to 10) for the duration of a performance!
The Opera is opening its doors to the very young. On Sunday afternoons, at the same time as their parents or guardians are attending a performance, the children will discover the same opera in a playful and amusing way. Led by the team at the Opera’s artistic and cultural education department, the workshops will offer the children the chance to share a common artistic experience with their elders.

Offer subject to the purchase of a performance ticket for the accompanying adult.
Registration and bookings must be made no later than the Thursday preceding the performance.
The number of seats is limited (maximum 17)
Flat rate: €10 per child (aged between 4 and 10)

The workshops are held at the Opera’s Oriental Bar. The meeting point with the team from the artistic and cultural education department is in front of the ground floor cloakroom after the ticket control, 20 minutes prior to the start of the performance.

 

A Wednesday at the Opera 

For children aged 6 and above, come as a family and spend a Wednesday afternoon at the Opera immersed in one of the season’s operas. Delve into the world of the work through interactive workshops and games... Discover, sing, dance, and play! We have numerous surprises in these workshops to share with young and old alike.

Full price: €12 / Reduced rate: €8 (children, the unemployed, welfare recipients and the disabled)
Duration: 3 hours (from 3 pm to 6 pm – afternoon tea organised by the Opera)
